Former New York Gov. George Pataki (R) blasted attempts by some Republicans in Congress to overturn the results of the 2020 election, calling the push “a grave threat to our freedom.”

A political majority in Congress, undoing the certified results of the states, would undermine our entire electoral system.”

“This effort must stop now and responsible Republicans must denounce these efforts as Senator [Tom] Cotton [R-Ark.] and others have done over the past two weeks,” Pataki added.
The former governor goes on to call for any credible allegations of voter fraud to be investigated and condemns states where officials altered voting regulations without the approval of their legislatures.
“But certify the results promptly. No intimidation, no threatening or political retaliation,” Pataki continued. “President Trump doesn’t want to leave office, but leave he must.”
