Public invited to attend webinars November 17, 2021

November 8, 2021 – Otter Tail County, MN– Otter Tail County’s Geographic Information Systems (GIS) department invites interested professionals and others to participate in instructional webinars to learn more about the real-world applications of GIS technologies. Discover creative and practical uses of local GIS technology available to you and your business.
GIS Day 2021 provides an opportunity to promote GIS awareness, education and technical training for the public to use the technology to its full potential. Having a day of GIS activities open to students, novice users, and experienced professionals will help promote utilizing GIS to inform decision making and to make useful GIS technology open and easily available to the public.
“Otter Tail County has long been a leader in developing and sharing GIS technology in greater Minnesota,” said Martin Mollenhauer, GIS Coordinator. “We are proud to be able to host this GIS Day event to celebrate the successes of our team members, and to demonstrate how GIS is used to share information, manage resources, and guide decision making both within the county and for our public users.”

Otter Tail GIS 101: Tips & tricks for using the Otter Tail County GIS app
Printing and sharing maps, using the search bar feature, accessing data layers, viewing documents from the pop-up links, and draw and measure tools.

Otter Tail GIS 201: Exploring addresses, lakes, and other web apps
Using GIS apps for new address applications.
3:00-4:00
Otter Tail GIS New Technology Showcase

About Otter Tail County GIS Department
GIS is responsible for the planning, development, and implementation of the GIS spatial and attribute databases. GIS develops new data layers, writes programs to manipulate data, and analyzes spatial data. The department serves as a technical resource to other county departments.
