More than a dozen Pennsylvania Republican state lawmakers came together on Monday to announce the formation of the Pennsylvania Freedom Caucus (PAFC).
Andy Roth, president of the State Freedom Caucus Network, joined House Freedom Caucus Chairman Scott Perry (R-Cumberland/Dauphin/York) in the Ryan Office Building at the State Capitol Complex to make the announcement. Roth has previously worked at the Club for Growth and the Club for Growth Foundation, most recently as the Foundation’s Executive Director.
“Building on the success of the House Freedom Caucus (HFC), the SFCN will help establish State Freedom Caucuses (SFC) and provide the high-level staff, strategy, and community conservatives need to take ground across the country,” according to the State Freedom Caucus Network website.
Nick Kerin serves as State Director for the Pennsylvania Freedom Caucus following nearly a decade in both the Federal and State Government. He has previously served as both District Manager and Campaign Manager to Freedom Caucus members in the U.S. House of Representatives and the Pennsylvania State Legislature.
State representatives Dawn Keefer (R-York) and David Rowe (R-Snyder/Union) will serve as the PAFC chair and vice chair, respectively.
Keefer promises to shrink size of government and reduce spending and fight “power hungry establishment.”
Pennsylvania becomes the eighth state in the network along with Arizona, Georgia, Illinois, Mississippi, Nevada, South Carolina, and South Dakota.
