LESLIE, MI – Leslie Public Schools is beginning its first day of school Tuesday after a threat canceled Monday’s classes.
The district will have extra police presence as students start in-person classes Aug. 25, a message from the district said.

The nature of the threat is unclear, but the district canceled classes for Aug. 24 the night before after receiving it. The district worked with police to assess the threat, the message reads.
“We take student and employee safety seriously and work with police departments to evaluate the information in these cases to determine appropriate actions,” the message reads.
Leslie is offering a modified face-to-face teaching schedule and full-time online instruction during the novel coronavirus pandemic.
