NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. – The Union College women's golf team shot a team round of 346 to sit in seventh place out of 15 teams after day one of the Hamilton College Invitational, held at the Yahnundasis Golf Club on Saturday afternoon.
The Dutchwomen posted the second-best round among five Liberty League schools at the event, finishing behind only New York University (319). Williams College leads a crowded leaderboard with a team score of 313, followed by Amherst College (316) and both Middlebury College and Hamilton College (318).
Junior Alexandra Cymbal led the Union golfers with a round of seven-over 80 to sit in a tie for 18th place individually, followed close behind by senior Ashley Harding with an 81 (T-23rd place). Junior Colleen Buckley followed with a 92 and senior Kiara Beckham carded a 93 on day one to account for the team's top-four scores.
The Dutchwomen will be back on the course tomorrow for day two of the Hamilton Invitational, beginning at 10 a.m.
