House Freedom Caucus Chair Scott Perry (R-PA) told reporters caucus members would vote against the debt ceiling deal between the White House and Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA). Rep. Perry urged other Republicans to do the same, calling the deal a failure. When asked if the caucus would file a motion to remove Speaker McCarthy over the deal, Rep. Perry said his focus is currently on defeating the agreement. However, fellow caucus member Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) warned, “there’s going to be a reckoning.” close
