Coronavirus: Another 25 cases in Tippecanoe, third straight day of 1,000+ for Indiana - Journal & Courier

LAFAYETTE – Tippecanoe County’s confirmed coronavirus cases climbed by another 25 on Saturday, as the state posted a third consecutive day with more than 1,000 cases, according to figured released by the Indiana State Department of Health.

Tippecanoe County’s total reached 1,316 cases, as of Saturday.

Indiana reported on 1,096 new cases Saturday with 15 additional deaths. That pushed the state's totals to 79,676 with 2,921 deaths.

Among Tippecanoe County’s neighbors, Carroll County recorded an additional death, the third in the past week. Since March, six Carroll County residents have died due to coronavirus, according to state records.

Here were the numbers for the state and Tippecanoe County’s neighbors and the daily increase in coronavirus cases and deaths, according to Saturday’s report from the Indiana State Department of Health.

  • Benton County:  68 cases, increase of 4; deaths, zero, unchanged; cases per 10,000 residents: 77.7; positivity rate past seven days: 5.6%.
  • Carroll County: 225 cases, increase of 12; deaths, 6, increase of 1; cases per 10,000 residents: 111.1; positivity rate past seven days: 6.8%.
  • Clinton County: 474 cases; increase of 12; deaths, 4, unchanged; cases per 10,000 residents: 146.3; positivity rate past seven days: 14.4%.
  • Fountain County: 76 cases, unchanged; deaths, 2, unchanged; cases per 10,000 residents: 46.5; positivity rate past seven days: 3.7%.
  • Jasper County: 270 cases, increase of 4; deaths, 2, unchanged; cases per 10,000 residents: 80.4; positivity rate past seven days: 9.5%.
  • Montgomery County: 368 cases, increase of 1; deaths, 21, unchanged; cases per 10,000 residents: 96.0; positivity rate past seven days: 3.5%.
  • Newton County: 122 cases, increase of 1; deaths, 10, unchanged; cases per 10,000 residents: 87.2; positivity rate past seven days: 9.4%.
  • Tippecanoe County: 1,316 cases, increase of 25; deaths, 12, unchanged; cases per 10,000 residents: 67.2; positivity rate past seven days: 3.1%.
  • Warren County: 25 cases, unchanged; deaths, 1, unchanged; cases per 10,000 residents: 30.2; positivity rate past seven days: 2.9%.
  • White County: 387 cases, increase of 3; deaths, 11, unchanged; cases per 10,000 residents: 160.5; positivity rate past seven days: 5.1%.
  • Indiana: 79,676 cases, increase of 1,096; deaths, 2,921 increase of 15; cases per 10,000 residents: 118.3; positivity rate past seven days: 7.7%.
