Jason Gough's forecast: Sunny and comfortable day today - Times Union

rintongs.blogspot.com

Today will be the best of the next several days, as we'll see lots of sun, low humidity and comfortable temperatures. Clouds roll in to kick off the new week with a few showers and storms for Monday. From there, we begin to emerge back into sunshine and warmer temperatures as the days roll on.

A bit of a cool start to the day if you're up in the Adirondacks, where temperatures are in the low and middle 50s. Elsewhere, we're sitting in the upper 50s to the mid-60s under a mainly clear sky. This will set the stage for a 'top 10 day' across the area. Dewpoints in the 50s: Check. Lots of sunshine: Done. Light wind: Roger that.

Highs will be where they've been of late, from the upper 70s to the middle 80s.

It'll be a quiet, cool-to-mild comfortable night with lows again in the 50s and 60s. The milder readings will be down the Hudson Valley as usual but they'll also be propped up by clouds coming up from the south.

Tomorrow into Monday

We turn more unsettled, Monday more so than tomorrow. Clouds will continue to make their way in from the south and from the west, but most if not all of the area will stay dry throughout the day. The exception may be a few light showers in the afternoon from the mid-Hudson Valley over to the southern Berkshires but I'd not get too jazzed up about that. Highs will be cooler than they've been as a function of the clouds, pretty much everyone hangs in the 70s.

Clouds hold in place tomorrow night, which will keep our temps up a bit overnight into Monday. The day looks to start out dry but as a cold front and some energy aloft moves in for the afternoon and early evening, we'll be looking at some scattered showers and perhaps a few thunderstorms. As of now, I'm not stoked up about any kind of decent storminess with the front as we look to stay cloudy and relatively stable through the day. That said if we manage to break out into some sunshine in the morning and early afternoon, we could see a few stronger storms. Highs on Monday will top out again in the 70s with perhaps an 80 or two around.

Tuesday and Beyond

We'll see a gradual improvement trend, getting back to a more summery feel by next weekend.

Tuesday starts off cloudy with perhaps a few leftover showers around early in the day. From there, we'll break out into some sunshine with more to come as the afternoon rolls on. Highs will be back to 80 in some spots.

Wednesday and Thursday will feature a mix of sun and clouds along with a few isolated showers. Most of us will stay dry though with highs in the middle 70s to the low 80s.

Come Friday, the humidity will get a little higher but still well under control. We'll have more sunshine with highs getting back to the mid-80s in more towns.

This looks to continue into the first half of the weekend.

Have a great day, enjoy that vitamin D! Plenty to go around.
