Here’s what the last day of early voting looks like across Harris County - KPRC Click2Houston

HOUSTON – Friday is the last day of early voting in Texas and people across Harris County have been heading to the polls.

More than 9 million Texans have cast a ballot so far, surpassing the state’s total votes cast in 2016.

“Nearly 1.4 million registered voters have already come out and made their voices heard in Harris County," Harris County Clerk Chris Hollins said.

Many even went out overnight to one of the eight locations in the county that opened at 7 a.m. Thursday and will remain open until 7 p.m. Friday.

KPRC 2 reporter Cathy Hernandez was out at Victory Worship Center in North Harris County to speak with people voting overnight. Voters urged people to get out and make their voice heard and called Harris County an example of what it looks like to make voting accessible to everyone.

Polls are starting to see more activity as people head out to cast their votes. Among those heading out this morning was Harris County Clerk Chris Hollins, who made the occasion a family affair.

There was hardly any wait times on the last day of early voting at the Moody Park Community Center in North Houston.

“We literally stepped in and it was simple," Anahi Osoian said.

For the first time in history, people were able to cast their vote from the comfort of their car at several locations, including NRG Park.

“It’s convenient. It keeps everyone and it’s the last day. I just want to get it done," Charise Norwood said.

“It’s my first time voting and I’m excited to do this. I think it’s time we all need to be out here standing for our rights, speaking out and it’s our time," Hasfa Alattas said.

Election day is November 3rd.
