Records Fall as Sits Second After Day Three of A-10 Championship - Duquesne University - Official Athletic Site

GENEVA, Ohio - The Duquesne swimming and diving team shattered four school records on day three of the Atlantic 10 Swimming and Diving Championship, as the Dukes moved into second place with one day remaining of competition. 

Duquesne has posted a score of 394 while Richmond paces the field with a score of 467.5. Davidson is third at 374 through three days. 

Audrey Steen recorded a trio of record-setting marks on Friday, besting her own school record in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 53.24 while topping her own program record in the 100-yard butterfly with a silver medal-winning time of 54.40. This marks her third consecutive medal-winning effort in the 100 back for Duquesne. In addition, she was part of the Dukes' 400-yard medley relay team which set a new school record with a time of 3:40.86 with teammates Reagan Linkous, Madison Dickert and Hanna Everhart

Everhart set another school reocrd for the Dukes on Friday, besting her own school record mark in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:47.90. She won gold in the event for the second-straight season for Duquesne. 

Emma Brinton kicked off day three finals with a gold medal performance in the 400 IM for the Dukes with a time of 4:16.72, her third gold medal in the event in four seasons. Emma Menzer finished just behind Brinton with a silver medal-winning showing at 4:17.76. 

Sophia Perez placed sixth for Duquesne in the 100 fly (55.84) while Mara Voytek (56.44) finished 12th and Abby Mele registered a 15th-place mark for the Dukes (56.79). 

Linkous finished fourth in the 100 back for Duquesne with a time of 55.29, while Clare Flanagan recorded a 14th-place mark of 56.98 and Leah Reisker was 16th at 57.26. 

Molly Brennan paced the consolation final in the 200 free with a ninth-place finish of 1:49.73. 

Dickert finished fifth in the 100-yard breaststroke for the Dukes at 1:02.72. 

On the diving side, Sidney O'Donnell placed sixth for Duquesne on the 1-meter boards with a score of 255.05 while Adrienne White finished 12th at 236.70 and Peyton Joiner placed 16th for the Dukes. 

Duquesne returns to action with the fourth and final day of the 2021 A-10 Championship tomorrow beginning at 8:30 a.m. from the SPIRE Institute.
