On Sunday at TPC Louisiana, the duo of Marc Leishman and Cameron Smith claimed victory at the 2021 Zurich Classic of New Orleans, beating South Africans Louis Oosthuizen and Charl Schwartzel with a par on the first playoff hole in an alternate-shot format.

The Aussies won in the deep red state of Louisiana, and were allowed to celebrate their PGA Tour victory as free human beings, smiling for posterity, and breathing in the fresh air.

Throughout the week, at TPC Louisiana, golf fans got to take it all in, enjoying a cold beverage, and some fresh outdoor air while watching world-class PGA Tour golf – with the vast majority going, dare we say, mask-less.

Meanwhile, Brooke Henderson won her 10th career LPGA victory at the HUGEL-AIR PREMIA L.A. Open, edging American Jessica Korda by one stroke.

The Canadian won her title in California, though – the most repressive state in the union, and was forced to wear a massive mask during the trophy presentation. The result was the 23-year old looking more like a submissive serf in some third-world country than a freshly-minted golf champion celebrating a milestone victory in the United States of America.

And, no the grim looking photo below is not somewhere in North Korea. It’s the final round of the LPGA’s Los Angeles Open on an empty desolate golf course. The repressive authoritarian-run state would not allow any spectators.

Communism looks so exciting!

Will the winner of June’s U.S. Open at Torrey Pines be forced to wear a mask during the trophy presentation?

Time will tell.
