FURMAN, S.C. – Freshman Emma Jackson led the way for the Duke women's tennis program on Sunday, winning her singles flight to pace the Blue Devils on the final day of the Furman Invitational.
 
Jackson won the flight two singles draw with a tight 6-7 (3), 6-2, 6-4 decision over Vanderbilt's Anessa Lee. Jackson completed the event with a 5-1 record between singles and doubles, winning her first match against a ranked opponent on Saturday.
 
In the backdraw final of flight two, No. 5 Georgia Drummy played in a competitive match before falling to Tennessee's Tenika McGiffin, 5-7, 7-6 (3), 6-3.

Freshman Ellie Coleman fell just short in her attempt at a second ranked singles win, dropping a 7-5, 6-4 decision to No. 104 Julia Adams of the host Furman. It was a strong first weekend for Coleman, who earned one of the single most prolific wins of the weekend when she beat No. 22 Emma Antonaki from Mississippi State.
 
The Blue Devils will be back in action for two separate events next weekend, with some headed to the Fall Ranked Spotlight, in Cary, N.C., while others are headed to Chapel Hill, N.C. for the UNC Invitational. Both events will run from Friday, Sept. 24 through Sunday, Sept. 26.
