STEAMBOAT SPRINGS – The Steamboat Institute’s Freedom Conference will take place outside of Steamboat Springs for the first time in its history, the conservative think tank announced Sunday.
The event will move to Beaver Creek, the Steamboat Pilot & Today reported.
The 12th annual conference is scheduled Aug. 28-29.
Jennifer Schubert-Akin, the institute’s chairperson, cited local restrictions related to the coronavirus as the main impetus for the location change.
Nigel Farage, the current leader of the United Kingdom’s Brexit party, is scheduled to speak at the conference.
