Thames Towboat Co. tugboats were traversing the Thames River on Thursday, hard at work.
The tug John P. Wronowski was guiding a crane barge along the waterfront at the U.S. Naval Submarine Base in Groton.
The company was incorporated in Norwich in 1865 and was transferred in 1879 to New London, where it expanded, according to its website. It was acquired by the Wronowski family of Montville in 1967. It currently has eight active tugboats.
