Valentine’s Day is upon us yet again, and like anything else in 2021, it doesn’t look the same as previous years. Normally one of the primary dining nights of the entire year, with restaurants filled with couples enjoying prix fixe dinners, this year sees only patio dining, takeout, and delivery as COVID-19 continues to plague the city.
Not all is lost, though; for many it means dining at home, which can be an even more romantic affair than venturing out into the city. Here are 16 restaurants and bars offering some form of Valentine’s Day specials, whether that’s in person or to-go. As usual, this map is organized by location, not ranked.
A number of Portland restaurants have resumed patio service. The level of service offered is indicated on each map point. Studies indicate that there is a lower exposure risk when outdoors, but the level of risk involved with patio dining is contingent on restaurants following strict social distancing and other safety guidelines.
