Memorial Day in Milwaukee's suburbs is usually full of parades and ceremonies to commemorate those who died in service to the United States.

But with the threat of the coronavirus, and the stay-at-home order in effect until May 26, a day after Memorial Day, many places have canceled or made adjustments to this year's events. Here's a list:

Brookfield: Memorial Day events have been canceled, according to Behling-Kutchera American Legion Post 296 and the city.

Delafield: Whether the 10 a.m. ceremony at Delafield American Legion Post 196 will happen this year is uncertain, said Terry Frazier, the post's commander. For updates, visit delafieldlegion.com/.

Dousman: Memorial Day ceremonies have been canceled, according to the village.

Elm Grove: The 73rd annual Elm Grove Memorial Day Parade has been canceled.

Germantown: American Legion Post 1 usually goes to six cemeteries to perform a reading, rifle salute and taps, then proceeds to its veterans memorial for a community rendering of honors. The post is unsure whether it will be doing the ceremonies this year, and has already decided not to do the community memorial, according to Neal Degner, the post's 1st vice commander.

Grafton: Rose-Harms American Legion Post 355 will not have its traditional Memorial Day celebration and luncheon. Its Sons of the American Legion members are planning to set up a memorial display of about 50 flags in Veterans Memorial Park with name tags on the poles honoring local veterans who have died over the years.

Greendale: All Memorial Day events have been canceled, according to American Legion Post 416 and the village.

Greenfield: Dan Jansen Family Fest, scheduled for May 22-25, has been canceled.

Hales Corners: No events are planned for this Memorial Day in Hales Corners, according to the village.

Hartland: American Legion Flanagan Dorn Post 294 will not put on a Memorial Day parade or ceremony this year, said Jim Olson, the post's commander.

Pewaukee: Pewaukee American Legion Post 71's annual Memorial Day parade has been canceled. The post is still doing funeral honor guard salutes at this time, said John Arnold, the post's commander, in an email.

As of now, the Pewaukee Lake Water Ski Club will not have its annual Memorial Day show at Lakefront Park in downtown Pewaukee. If the stay-at-home order would change, the status of the show may change as well, according to the club.

Menomonee Falls: Falls Memorial Fest scheduled for May 23 has been canceled, along with the Memorial Day parade, according to American Legion Post 382. The post is still planning to have its Aug. 29 Ride for Homeless Veterans, which features the ride, entertainment, food trucks, raffles and a cornhole tournament to raise funds for the Milwaukee Homeless Veterans Initiative. Merton: The parade put on by the Merton Community Fire Department has been canceled.

Mequon: American Legion Howard J. Schroeder Post 457 has canceled its Memorial Day parade. "We intend to honor our deceased brothers and sisters in arms with a traditional prayer and rifle salute per appropriate distancing precautions at the Post," according to the post's website. The time has yet to be determined. A reception and meal that usually follows the parade will not be held. For updates, visit bit.ly/Mequonpost.

Milwaukee: The 155th annual Milwaukee Memorial Day parade has been canceled. "We regret that this decision had to be made, but the safety of everyone that would be participating in this year's parade is our number one priority," according to the parade's website.

Mukwonago: There will be no Memorial Day events this year, according to the village and town of Mukwonago.

Muskego: Whether Muskego's 10 a.m. Memorial Day ceremony at city hall will go on as scheduled is still being determined, said American Legion Post 356 Commander Randy Reinke.

New Berlin: The city is still planning to commemorate Memorial Day, but what the event ends up looking like isn't final, said Mayor Dave Ament. The tentative plan is to have a "reverse parade" along Highland Memorial Park, in which members of Hoeppner-Horn Bros VFW Post 5716 would be in uniform and cars could drive by with signs and flags.

Oconomowoc: Oconomowoc's parade — put on by The Lake Country Veterans Group — is in limbo, said American Legion Post 91 Commander Tom Strey. He said chances of having it aren't good, but a final decision has yet to be made. The parade has been going on for about 90 years, he added.

Sussex: The Sussex Memorial Parade sponsored by VFW Post 6377 has been canceled.

Waukesha: The Waukesha Allied Veterans Council has canceled its Memorial Day programs, including the parade. Waukesha has been putting on virtual remembrance activities on its Facebook page this month, and will have two more, at noon May 18 and 25. Wauwatosa: Wauwatosa's Memorial Day celebration has been canceled.

West Allis: West Allis' Memorial Day parade, as well as all other community events through July 4, have been canceled.

Whitefish Bay: What would have been Whitefish Bay's sixth annual Memorial Day ceremony has been canceled.
