BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The day is here! Lehigh Athletics Day of Support is underway. From 12:01 a.m. until 11:59 p.m. on May 28, the Day of Support provides an opportunity for Lehigh alumni, families and friends to demonstrate their passion and support for Lehigh Athletics or their favorite Lehigh sport, while helping offset budget shortfalls caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
"It is a great source of pride for me to speak of the Lehigh Athletics community as 'family' and to know that year after year, the part of that family comprised of alumni, parents, patrons and friends are helping to provide a transformative educational experience for our current athletes," said Murray H. Goodman Dean of Athletics Joe Sterrett '76. "Although many of you may not feel close to the athletics experience of our students, either in geography or relative to your own time as a student, please know that your support is central to our intentions of helping the present generation learn, grow, and become prepared to lead. Now, as we all confront these challenging times of global pandemic, your continued support is both humbling and inspirational. Thank you!"
Due to the NCAA cutting national distributions to member institutions and canceled revenue-generating events and entrepreneurial activities, there is a greater financial burden on the Lehigh Athletics Department to raise operating dollars for our sports. (DOC) The Lehigh Athletics Partnership strives to embrace and engage our loyal and supportive alumni, families, and fans within the Lehigh community to further promote the passion and camaraderie that makes Lehigh so special.
The COVID-19 pandemic has affected the collegiate experience of many student-athletes, and may continue to have an adverse impact on future semesters. Support from the community will allow teams to maintain staff, travel for competition and recruitment, purchase essential equipment, and fund key student-athlete experiences; while minimizing the unique financial impact Lehigh programs will face.
Gifts made during the Day of Support may go to a sport program of your choice, multiple sport programs, and/or the General Unrestricted Athletics Partnership Fund. Any monies donated to the General Unrestricted Athletics Partnership Fund will be distributed to the highest priorities of the department. All donations will count toward the GO! Campaign for Lehigh.
Gifts can be made on May 28th online by clicking on the sport(s) program(s) of your choice or the General Unrestricted Athletic Partnership Fund. Using our secure online giving form, you are able to make a one-time gift, recurring gift, or pledge/pledge payment using a VISA, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover credit card. Giving online saves time and decreases processing costs for Lehigh Athletics.
Donations may also be mailed. Please make checks payable to "Lehigh University" and indicate the sport program(s) or General Unrestricted Athletics Partnership Fund, and "Lehigh Athletics Day of Support" on the memo line of the check.
All checks may be mailed to:
