Wednesday will be another sunny, hot, humid and breezy day. Then northwestern Minnesota sees showers and storms move in by evening, including a chance for severe weather.
Wednesday’s forecast
Wednesday is starting off warm, with most of western Minnesota in the 70s, and the rest of the state in the 60s. The recent warm and breezy winds out of the south continue, gusting to 20 and 30 mph at times. This puts the state 10 to 20 degrees above average again, with most of Minnesota seeing highs in the 90s.
It also stays humid, especially for western Minnesota, and the entire state sees sunny skies.
By evening, the pattern begins to change, and storms move into northwestern Minnesota. It is likely there could be severe storms that bring large hail and/or high winds, plus the storms may move slowly enough to cause heavy rain and localized flooding.
These showers and storms spread across Minnesota through the day Thursday. That extended forecast will be updated around 9 a.m.
