As Rochester braces for its sixth straight day in the 90s, including the city's hottest day in eight years, cooler days are on the horizon.

Friday's predicted high of 94 brings the end of the multi-day heat advisory, which is set to conclude at 8 p.m., according to the National Weather Service in Buffalo. The weekend will feel far cooler with predicted temperatures in the mid-80s Saturday and Sunday and some much-needed rain in the coming days.

Forecasters said they expect highs to remain in the mid-to-low 80s through Tuesday before the heat cranks back up late next week. High are expected to return to the 90s on Thursday, according to the Weather Service.

Rain is likely on Saturday and Monday. There's a chance area residents will also see some thunderstorms in the coming days.
