QUAD CITIES, IA/IL- ***FIRST ALERT DAY in effect until 12 Noon for Bitter Cold/ Extreme Wind Chills***

Very cold arctic air has the region in its grip. We’re starting your Sunday with temperatures in the single and double digits below zero, with wind chills down to -25 to -35 in some areas, especially north. Don’t look for much of a warm up today. Highs will struggle into the single digits at best, with a slight chance for light snow showers developing this afternoon. We’ll see a bit more snow overnight, with lows in the sub-zero and single digit range. Another round of snow develops Monday. It looks like the QCA will remain in the deep freeze heading into the week, with highs struggling into the single digits and teens.

TODAY:  Clear and very cold this morning, then increasing cloudiness. A slight chance for light snow. High: 3°. Wind: NW 5-10 mph. Wind chill: to -25 to -35.

TONIGHT:  Cloudy and cold. A slight chance for light snow into this evening. Low: -2°. Wind: N 5-10 mph. Wind chill: to -15.

MONDAY:  Cloudy with another round of light snow during the day. High: 10°. Wind chill: -10 to -15.
