The Eagles shot 298 on Sunday to fall three spots after Saturday's blistering 282 to open the tournament. FGCU's two-round total of 580 is just one shot behind James Madison. FIU moved into the team lead at 569, while Boston College sits second at 571.
Monday's action will begin with a shotgun start at 8:45 AM at the Lakewood Ranch Golf and Country Club. Live scoring will be available through www.GolfStat.com.
"The course was definitely set up more difficult today and the wind was a factor as well – two things that we should have adjusted to better. We made a few more big numbers and were plus nine on the back," said head coach Sarah Trew. "Tomorrow we are going to get back into the aggressive mindset that we had yesterday and will focus on finishing better on the back nine. We have a great opportunity to move back up the leaderboard and our goal is to take advantage of that tomorrow."
Yerxa posted the best round of the day for the Eagles with a two-under 70 thanks in part to a strong start where she was three under at the turn. Edmonds finished just behind Yerxa as she shot 74 on the day.
"It's really cool to have two players tied for second with the opportunity to win individually," said Trew. "Haley and Laura have had a wonderful tournament so far and we are looking forward to seeing what they can do tomorrow."
Sophia Warren (Lakewood Rach, Fla./Seminole State College) and Anouk Casty (Basserdrof, Switzerland/Academia) are each tied for 38th (151) after Sunday. Warren finished the second round three over (75), while Casty shot 79. Posie Farrelly (Lutz, Fla./George Steinbrenner HS) is tied for 58th (155), while Josephine Bertelsen (Vejle, Denmark/Campus Vejle/Western Texas College), who is playing as an individual, is 78th (170).
Both Edmonds and Yerxa lead the field for birdies. Edmonds is first with 11 over the two rounds, while Yerxa is tied for second with nine. The duo have both finished under on par 4s (3.9 and 3.95), while Yerxa has been strong on par 5's (4.5).
The last time the Eagles played in the Pat Bradley, FGCU finished 3rd among 17 teams in 2019-20. Prior to last year's shortened season, FGCU had competed in the event 14 consecutive seasons.
