HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – Day two of the Little Rock Golf Classic is in the books, and the Central Arkansas women's golf team moved into first place after a solid day on the course. Camila Moreno held onto her first-place spot, while two other Bears moved into the top-five on Monday.
Moreno held even in her second round to stay at 4-under for the tournament, posting a pair of birdies down the stretch to end on a high note. Tania Nunez had a strong front nine and finished the last four holes cleanly to end the day at a 1-under 71, moving into second place overall.
Elin Kumlin jumped 11 spots in the table on an impressive 2-under 70 to leap into a tie for fourth place after two rounds. Karlie Whittington stayed in the top-20, hitting a 1-over 73 to place 18th after her second round.
Entering the final day on Tuesday, Central Arkansas carries a four-stroke lead over ULM in second place and a 15-stroke lead over third-place Little Rock. If the team finishes in the top-five, it will be the third tournament of the fall in which the Bears take a top-five place.
