CHICAGO - DePaul men's soccer hosts the St. John's Red Storm for a BIG EAST matchup on Saturday afternoon at Wish Field. First touch is scheduled for 1 p.m. and the match will be broadcast on the BIG EAST Digital Network on FloSports presented by SoFi. The Blue Demons are looking to gain additional points in the BIG EAST standings to move up the table and better their chances at a top-six finish.

DePaul will honor its ten seniors for senior day prior to Saturday's match. Justin Bohlig, Matthew Brickman, Boris Del Valle, Jake Fuderer, Michael Lantry, Youssef Ramadan, Robert Rao, Jack Richards, Jacob Seeto and Patrick Watkins will all be recognized for their commitment and dedication to DePaul men's soccer over their careers in Lincoln Park.

HISTORY VS. ST. JOHN'S
DePaul is looking for its first win against the Red Storm since 2016. The Blue Demons claimed a 1-0 win in overtime on the road. Meanwhile, the Blue Demons will be looking for their first win over St. John's at Wish Field since the 2006 season.

BIG EAST SLATE
DePaul sits in sixth place with two matches to play this fall. DePaul has 11 points while the Red Storm hold 14 points in the conference table. St. John's sits in third place while DePaul comes in behind Butler and Villanova in the conference standings. DePaul travels to take on Xavier next week in Cincinnati in the regular season finale.

CONSISTENT CRUZ
Gandhi Cruz has been a constant presence in net for the Blue Demons this fall. Cruz made seven saves in the Blue Demons' 1-0 loss at Marquette, stopping a key PK attempt in the first half. Cruz has made 64 saves this season, the most in the BIG EAST. His saves total ranks 13th in the nation.

FIRST CONFERENCE ROAD WIN
DePaul's Omar Ramadan scored his first career goal to give DePaul a 3-2 win in overtime against Villanova last Wednesday. Jake Fuderer had a great performance in the win, tallying two assists and netting a penalty kick opportunity. The score was the first of the season for Fuderer and he's up to a team-high five assists this fall. The big performance in the win earned the senior BIG EAST honor roll recognition. Jack Richards scored his team-leading fifth goal in the win, opening the scoring within the first five minutes of the match.

SCOUTING ST. JOHN'S

  • Following a lopsided home win over Marquette and a narrow defeat at the hands of top-ranked Georgetown, St. John's Men's Soccer has cracked the TopDrawerSoccer Top 25 rankings for the first time this season.  Additionally, the Red Storm moved up six spots to no. 26 in the latest release of the RPI.
  • The Red Storm defeated the Golden Eagles, 4-0, last Saturday night for the team's largest margin of victory this season.  With the win, the Johnnies improved to 9-4-2 overall with a 4-2-2 mark in BIG EAST play, good enough for third in the conference standings.
  • On Wednesday, the Red Storm appeared to be heading for a draw with Georgetown before an unfortunate deflection gave the Hoyas a game-winner with just 38 seconds remaining in double overtime.  Georgetown, which moved to 13-1 on the season with a 3-1 road win over Xavier on Saturday, returned to the no. 1 spot in the TopDrawerSoccer rankings on Monday.
  • Brandon Knapp leads the Red Storm with five goals this season. Four players on the St. John's roster have tallied three or more scores this fall.
