GREENWOOD, Ind. – After a delayed opening, Greenwood is opening Freedom Springs Aquatic Center Monday, June 15.
“City leadership has worked tirelessly to finalize the operational plans for this public amenity, and throughout this process, our main priority has been the health and safety of all residents and visitors,” said Greenwood Mayor Mark W. Myers. “We understand the demand for Freedom Springs will remain very strong throughout the summer, and we want everyone to feel confident and safe when visiting the facility.”
The Greenwood Parks Department has implemented enhanced cleaning and disinfecting protocols, including regularly cleaning high-traffic areas and surfaces. When guests enter the facility, they will be required to adhere to Freedom Springs policies and protocols.
The max capacity will be 700 people according to the city, the facility will only be open to season pass holders through July 4, everyone entering the facility must be screened, six feet social distancing will be enforced, sunscreen stations have been converted to sanitizing stations, and lounge chairs have been placed to meet the six feet distance requirement. Certain gates have been changed to exits only, concession seating has changed, lockers will remain closed as well as cabanas to ensure the public’s health and safety.
Freedom Springs currently still plans to host special events throughout the year, but the won’t begin until July.
