The Astros revealed a 30-man opening day roster of 15 pitchers and 15 position players Thursday, one day before beginning the regular season against the Seattle Mariners at Minute Maid Park.
Closer Roberto Osuna, whose status was murky throughout summer camp workouts, was included in the team’s bullpen. Reigning Minor League Pitcher of the Year Cristian Javier and intriguing prospect Enoli Paredes both made the opening day pitching staff, as did lefthander Blake Taylor.
Pitchers Austin Pruitt, Brad Peacock and Rogelio Armenteros will start the season on the injured list, joining Yordan Alvarez and Jose Urquidy.
Rosters will trim to 28 on Aug. 6 before going down to 26 on Aug. 20.
