The Jacksonville Jaguars had three Day Two selections, addressing the secondary and offensive line with Georgia cornerback Tyson Campbell (No. 33 overall), Stanford offensive tackle Walker Little (No. 45 overall) and Syracuse safety Andre Cisco (No. 65 overall).
Campbell is a cornerback with the coveted combination of size, length, athleticism and speed. He will likely play on the outside (although we shouldn’t rule out him playing in the slot), and could fit in well with defensive coordinator Joe Cullen’s scheme. He adds to an interesting group of cornerbacks with CJ Henderson, Shaquill Griffin, Sidney Jones, Tre Herndon and others.
While his name is Walker Little, he is far from little at 6-foot-7, 313 pounds. He is an athletic offensive tackle as well, and was a first-team All-Pac-12 selection in 2018. Little could be a long-term option for the Jaguars at left tackle, with Cam Robinson playing on the franchise tag during the 2021 season.
Cisco is a ball-hawking safety who recorded 13 interceptions and 29 pass breakups in 24 career games. He is a two-time All-ACC selection, and could challenge for immediate playing time in Jacksonville’s defensive backfield.
For all the things these players do well, however, there are also concerns. Little has played in one game since 2019 after a season-ending knee injury that year, and then he opted out of the 2020 season due to COVID-19 concerns. Meanwhile, Cisco tore his ACL in September and is still recovering. Campbell doesn’t have any health concerns heading into the season, but there are some technical parts of his game he can fine-tune.
The Jaguars also didn’t address the defensive line, particularly the interior defensive line, or tight end positions in the second or third rounds, two big areas of need for Jacksonville. And using two of your three Day Two picks on high upside players with health concerns is an interesting strategy.
