With today being Memorial Day, I am sure many want to get out and enjoy the weather, but some areas of Texas and New Mexico will be dealing with strong to severe storms today. Here is a look at today’s severe risk for the Southern U.S..
Isolated to scattered severe storms will be likely in many of the same areas that had strong weather on Sunday.
All modes of severe weather will be in the forecast through tonight with large hail, damaging winds and isolated tornadoes. The wind and hail risk will be the highest risk with today’s particular set-up.
Significant hail means hail stones could exceed 2″ in diameter later today. Bring in any outdoor items that you don’t want damaged as hail this size could be destructive.
Storms will be intensifying with the strong heat in the forecast this afternoon. This is likely when storms will be turning severe and these storms could maintain their strength into early Tuesday morning for areas like Dallas, TX.
