Cloquet and Moose Lake are both planning their traditional parades and fireworks shows in addition to a day of activities. Moose Lake also has a full slate of activities throughout the day Saturday, July 3.
Cromwell will host the Kaleb Anderson Memorial 5K Saturday, July 3, while Cloquet will hold its annual Sawdust 5K early on Sunday, July 4.
Cloquet
July 4: Festivities begin with the annual Sawdust 5K beginning at 8 a.m. in Pinehurst Park in Cloquet. The race will be followed at 10:45 a.m. by the Lavonna Prevost 1-Miler. The route travels through west Cloquet neighborhoods and the Pinehurst Park area. Registration is available at tempotickets.com/sawdust2021. The cost is $30 for the 5K and $10 for the 1-Miler.
From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. there will be a car show at the Northeastern Hotel, Saloon and Grille, 115 St. Louis Ave.
After an aerial flyover, a parade down Cloquet Avenue will begin at 11 a.m. with the lineup beginning at 10 a.m. The grand marshal of the parade will be "Our Local Healthcare Heroes," according to the Cloquet 4th of July Facebook page.
At noon, a 3-on-3 basketball tournament will be held on the courts at Pinehurst Park.
At 10:10 p.m. or dusk, there will be a fireworks show over the St. Louis River.

Cromwell
July 3: The city of Cromwell will host the 10th annual Kaleb Anderson Memorial Fun Run/Walk, at Kaleb Anderson Memorial Playground in Cromwell.
This year, the organizers are making the race a “glow run,” with participants encouraged to wear neon-colored outfits. In addition, glow sticks and other neon items will be available to wear during the event.
The race will begin at 8:45 p.m. Memorial lanterns will be available for purchase and will be sent up after the race. The evening will conclude with a fireworks display.
Registration is available at the Kaleb Anderson Memorial Playground Facebook page or at 7 p.m. the day of the event. The cost is $25 for a short-sleeved T-shirt and $35 for a long-sleeved T-shirt. The cost for children under age 10 is $15; long-sleeved shirts are not available in children’s sizes.
Moose Lake
July 3: From 8 a.m to 1 p.m., a flea market will be held at Riverside Arena, and a farmers market will be held across from the arena.
There will be a parade for kids down Elm Avenue to Hope Lutheran Church from 10 a.m. to 10:30. The lineup begins at 9:30 a.m. at 400 Fourth Street.
The American Legion will host bingo from noon to 8 p.m. at Moose Lake City Park.
At 1 p.m. there will be a free showing of "Shark Tale" at the Lake Theatre.
From 8 p.m. to midnight the 80s and 90s cover band Night Train will perform at Moose Lake Municipal Liquor.
July 4: From 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. a flea market will be held at Riverside Arena.
The Moose Lake Muni will host a bean bag tournament beginning at 11 a.m. The cost is $20 for the double elimination tournament and participants must sign up by Saturday by calling Moose Lake Municipal Liquor.
From noon to 10 p.m., an "Old-fashioned celebration" will take place at Moose Lake City Park. The free celebration will feature games, food, live music, family picnics, swimming and animal ambassadors from the Osprey Wilds Environmental Learning Center.
The "Together We Can" parade will begin at 1 p.m. The lineup and check-in will begin at 11 a.m. on Lakeshore Avenue. Participants looking to sign up should contact the Moose Lake Area Chamber of Commerce at 218-485-4145 or mooselakechamber@gmail.com.

At approximately 10 p.m., there will be a fireworks display that can be viewed from Moose Lake City Park.
