The Florence Pioneer Day parade and activities are back on schedule for Sept. 17-18 this year after having to cancel last year’s event. Pioneer Day has been celebrated in Florence since 1928 and the Pioneer Board is pleased to continue with the tradition.

The activities kick off at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 17 at the Florence Elks. The 2021 Pioneer Day Royalty will be formally introduced at that time. King and Queen are Bob and Sue Wood, Parade Marshal is Cecil Slattery and the Distinguished Citizen is Lynn Lemon-Oliver. The new king and queen will be crowned by the 2019 king and queen Rick and Joyce Archuletta.

Following the introductions, the very popular band, The Atomic Fireballs will be performing for the evening. There will be a $ 5 cover charge for the dance.

Saturday morning the Pioneer Day Parade will begin at 10 a.m. down Main Street in Florence beginning at the fire station. Pioneers will gather at Pioneer Park following the parade for a BBQ meal and visit.

The evening will conclude with activities at the Florence Brewery.

There will be food trucks and vendors on the main streets of town with a variety of items for sale.
