NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State women's basketball team (2-5) defeated NAIA Missouri Baptist (3-6), 91-42, in front of more than 1,400 local students as part of the program's Education Day, held Wednesday at Redbird Arena.
Freshman Kenzie Bowers scored a career-high 17 points on 6-of-9 shooting while junior DeAnna Wilson posted 11 points and 10 rebounds for her third career double-double.

TURNING POINT
Illinois State scored the game's first 12 points and never looked back, leading 21-6 after 10 minutes, 41-19 at halftime, 68-31 after 30 minutes, before a bucket by redshirt sophomore Maya Wong gave the 'Birds their largest lead of the contest at 87-38 with 3:17 to play.
The Redbirds controlled the game throughout, forcing 30 Missouri Baptist turnovers and holding a 37-25 advantage on the glass.
IN THE BOX SCORE
- The Redbirds' 49-point win margin is the team's largest since winning by 56 (101-45) over Western Illinois on Dec. 28, 1987.
- ISU's 91 points are the most since winning 98-53 over Saint Xavier on Dec. 6, 2020, also the last time that Illinois State had seven players with eight-plus points.
- The last time the 'Birds had six players with multiple steals was an 81-67 win over Drake at Redbird Arena on Feb. 8, 2013. The team's 19 steals are the most for ISU since Jan. 27, 2011, when Illinois State had 19 as well in an 82-44 win at Southern Illinois.
- Sophomore Jasmine McGinnis-Taylor was 4-for-4 from the floor in career-high eight-point performance.
