ALERT DAY WEDNESDAY: A potent storm system makes its way into central and southwest Mississippi – all modes of severe weather, featuring strong winds, hail and a few tornadoes (potentially strong and long tracked) will be possible. During the morning, a few patches of fog will be possible amid the low clouds. A strong southerly flow and a few sun breaks will bolster warmth (in the lower 80s) and unstable air across the region through the day. Severe weather potential will increase after lunch time with two rounds of storms possible, continuing through the early overnight period as the front sweeps eastward. Take the time to review your severe weather action plans in the event warnings are issued for your area. Storm risk exits after midnight, trending quieter and cooler into Thursday morning.
