Following the Mets’ 10-2 loss against the Marlins, the team announced left-handed pitcher Jerry Blevins, right-handed pitcher Jerad Eickhoff, catcher Caleb Joseph, infielder Jose Peraza, outfielder Mallex Smith and right-handed pitcher Arodys Vizcaino would not make the opening day roster. The team later announced they released left-handed pitcher Mike Montgomery and they now have 31 players in big-league camp.

The Mets announced that they will no longer accept printed tickets for admission into Citi Field. Ticket holders will have to download the MLB Ballpark app to display their ticket.
Hearing that Mike Piazza will increase his presence with the Mets, taking on some community relations and marketing responsibilities plus building relationships with players. Piazza was in camp for a few days as a guest instructor.

Anthony Castrovince of MLB.com ranked his top 10 best bullpens in the major leagues and the Mets came in at No. 4.
Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor and owner Steve Cohen met for dinner with the hopes to work towards the terms on an extension prior to the opening day deadline, Jeff Passan of ESPN reported. Cohen tweeted he ate mediocre ravioli and Lindor had chicken parmesan.

Relief pitcher Jerry Blevins did not make the Mets opening day roster, but Blevins tweeted he will report to Brooklyn, which is the team’s alternate site.

The Royals selected the contract of their former All-Star closer Wade Davis. Davis will earn $1.25MM in guaranteed salary and can earn an additional $1.125MM in incentives.
Randy Dobnak and the Minnesota Twins agreed to a five-year, $9.25 million extension, according to Jeff Passan of ESPN. The deal includes three club options that can increase the contract to $29.75 million.
