Pi Day falls on the beginning of Daylight Savings Time this year, meaning there could be some dollar savings on Sunday as well as an extra hour of sunlight in the evening.

Pi is what mathematicians call the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter. It takes place March 14, in honor of the first three digits of pi, 3.14.

The date has been adopted by pizza and dessert lovers as well as restaurants that make them.

Here are some of Pi Day 2021 deals from chains with more than one location in Southern California.

7-Eleven: Members of the convenience chain loyalty program can get large pizzas for $3.14 each on March 14. The offer is good for in-store purchase or deliver at participating locations. 7-eleven.com/7rewards

Blaze Pizza: The Pasadena-based chain has a deal for loyalty club members that will begin on March 14 and run through April 12. They can order a customized pizza with unlimited toppings for $3.14 using the Blaze app. Existing members will see the offer on their apps, according to a news release. North Italia: This chain has locations in Irvine, El Segundo and Santa Monica. It is introducing a Korean BBQ Short Rib Pizza for Pi Day, available through the end of the month. northitalia.com

Pie Hole: This Los Angles-based chain is getting into the bakery business inside Gelson’s market in Santa Monica and will ship its sweet and savory pies nationwide. Its Pi Day products include a Chocolate Brownie Pie, filled with chocolate custard and topped with the pi symbol. On March 14, it will be serving such flavors as Lonely Pie for $3.14.
