The timing of this event looks to be late morning Monday and will carry into the late-afternoon hours. If the storms pop up earlier than the late morning hours leading into lunch hours. We are looking at two timeframe of where the strong to severe storms will occur. First, storms look to pop-off around late morning into lunch hours. Second, another round in the afternoon toward late-afternoon or dinner time hours. During these time frame, scattered showers and thunderstorms will be moving in a North East track. A few thunderstorms may be severe with high to damaging winds, hail and a possible isolated tornado cannot be ruled out, especially for areas east of Dane county.

Rainfall amounts could be on the heavier side, this would be beneficial for southern Wisconsin as the area remains in a moderate to severe drought conditions.

This includes planning ahead. Whether you’re in the office on the go outdoors, or in bed at night, having a weather radio on hand to alert you should a warning be issued for your location is recommended. Also, take time to secure loose lawn items to help keep them from flying away in strong winds. Be sure to charge devices and have flashlights handy just in case of a power outage.
