DePaul Announces Men's and Women's Basketball Game Day Enhancements - DePaul Blue Demons

rintongs.blogspot.com
CHICAGO – With Wintrust Arena serving as permanent home for both the DePaul men's and women's basketball programs beginning with the 2021-22 season, DePaul Athletics has begun its work to provide the best and safest possible fan experience in the nation. That work has led to the following upgrades and operational changes for the upcoming season.

"We know our fans' experience on gameday begins well before they enter Wintrust Arena. It starts when they purchase tickets and doesn't end until they arrive safely back home after the game," said Vice President and Director of Athletics DeWayne Peevy. "We will be implementing several key changes to begin the season, but I know our work is not even close to done. We will be intentional and transparent throughout this season as we continue to make enhancements each week to the gameday experience. Our fans input and feedback are going to be critical to this effort, and I look forward to many conversations with them in the coming months."

COVID-19 Protocols
The number one priority of DePaul Athletics has always been, and continues to be, the health and safety of its student-athletes, arena guests, and staff. Accordingly, DePaul Athletics will actively update and implement COVID-19 mitigation protocols in accordance with federal, state, and local government guidelines. DePaul Athletics and Wintrust Arena will implement the following health and safety measures this season to ensure a safe return to competition:
  • Arena guests ages 2 and older will be required to wear face coverings inside the arena at all times, except when actively eating or drinking, in accordance with current local regulations.
  • Vaccination is strongly encouraged, but not required, for entry to DePaul Athletics events at Wintrust Arena.
  • Enhanced cleaning and sanitization procedures will be in place throughout the venue prior to and during all events.
  • Hand sanitization stations will be located throughout the arena's concourses.
  • Doors to the arena will now open two hours prior to tipoff to ensure adequate time to enter the arena and to allow for less dense crowds upon entry.
  • Concession stands and the box office will feature cashless service. A credit/debit card will be required for purchases.
Please Note: DePaul and Wintrust Arena have taken enhanced health and safety measures to ensure a safe return to competition. Fans must follow all posted instructions while visiting Wintrust Arena. An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. By attending a DePaul event, fans assume all risks related to exposure of COVID-19.

Online Gameday A-Z Guide
The new official online home for DePaul men's and women's basketball gameday information is DePaulBlueDemons.com/Gameday. This online guide will serve as a central hub for everything you need to know about prior to attending games at Wintrust Arena.

Fans may reserve parking in advance of gameday through the SpotHero parking reservations app. To reserve your discounted parking spot, visit the DePaul Athletics' SpotHero Parking Page.

Blue Demon Pregame Celebration – Hosted by the Marriott Marquis Chicago
At select DePaul men's and women's basketball games this season, the Marriott Marquis Chicago will host the official Blue Demon Pregame Celebration—an alumni and fan gathering beginning prior to tipoff, adjacent to Wintrust Arena. The Blue Demon Pregame Celebration will allow fans to sample the world-renown flavor of Chicago at Marriott's Showroom Food Hall and enjoy draft beer, wine, and handcrafted cocktails. More information about this offering will be made available to fans in early November.

Clear Bag Policy
As a reminder, Wintrust Arena's clear bag policy remains in place for all DePaul Athletics events. Each fan will be permitted to carry one large clear bag – either a one-gallon clear plastic freezer bag or a clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC bag that does not exceed 12" x 6" x 12". Oversized bags will not be permitted to be checked/stowed at the arena upon arrival. For more information, visit DePaulBlueDemons.com/ClearBag.

Doors Open Time
Doors to Wintrust Arena will now open 30 minutes earlier to ensure adequate time to enter the arena and to allow for less dense crowds upon entry. With this change, doors to Wintrust Arena will open two hours prior to tipoff for each DePaul men's and women's basketball game. Fans are reminded they may enter through the skybridge connected to the Lot A parking garage or through the arena's main entrance, located at the corner of Cermak and Indiana.

Student Entry Doors
This season, a dedicated set of student entry doors will be created at the main entrance of Wintrust Arena. All DePaul student tickets must enter through these doors. Student tickets will not successfully scan at other doors or entry points.

Mobile Ticketing
DePaul Athletics will transition to mobile ticketing at all DePaul Athletics events, beginning with the 2021-22 season. Mobile tickets provide a safe and contactless environment for fans. Print-at-home paper tickets (PDFs) are being discontinued and will no longer be accepted at any DePaul Athletics venue to further combat fraud and counterfeiting commonly associated with PDF tickets.

Mobile ticketing also provides:

  • Quick and easy entry using your mobile phone or smart device
  • Instant access to all your season tickets through DePaulBlueDemons.com/MyAccount
  • The ability to manage, transfer and sell your tickets at any time
  • Reduced risk of lost, stolen, counterfeit or forgotten tickets
Complete information will be emailed to all ticket holders in early November.

Seating Changes
Several seating changes, include the addition of a second row of courtside seating for men's basketball games and the removal of row FL1 in sideline sections for men's and women's basketball games, are being made inside Wintrust arena to enhance the gameday environment. Fans may review the new seating chart and the all-new virtual seating map to see these changes.

Club Seating
As in the past, Club 1 and Club 2 (Sections 108-110) will offer season ticket holders spacious seating and additional amenities to elevate fans' gameday experience. New this season, Club 1 and 2 will no longer require a multi-year seat lease. These seating areas will be available on a year-to-year basis. However, multi-year agreements are still available for those interested in locking in pricing.

New for 2021, single-game men's basketball tickets purchased in Club 1 and 2 will offer food and beverage privileges. Parking privileges for these locations will remain a season ticket holder benefit and will not be offered on a single-game basis.

For DePaul Athletics events at Wintrust Arena, infants or toddlers under 36 inches in height who will not be needing a seat and will sit on a parent/guardian's lap, do not need a ticket to enter. If a seat must be occupied by the infant and/or carrier, a regular ticket must be purchased. Ticket policies for DePaul postseason events may differ due to guidelines set by the NCAA, BIG EAST Conference, or other sponsoring organization.

An all-new, mobile-friendly student ticket claim and transportation reservation process will be in place for DePaul students this season. More information will be emailed to DePaul University students in early November.

Additionally, fan experience surveys will be sent by email to select fans after each home game at Wintrust Arena.

Tickets start at $10 each and include admission to both exhibition games. Both the men's and women's basketball season ticket packages include admission to the doubleheader event. Doors to Wintrust Arena will open at 3 p.m.
