ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The La Salle women's golf team concluded its first day of the 2021 Navy Fall Invitational on Saturday afternoon, shooting a 342 (+54) in the opening round.
 
ABOUT THE COURSE

• The Naval Academy Golf Course is a par 72 course, playing at 6,084 yards.
• The tournament consists of two rounds, the Explorers finishing the final 18 holes on Sunday after their opening 18 today.
• 13 teams are in competition with 76 golfers in action, including 11 individuals.

 
LA SALLE SCORECARD

• Kayleigh Zeman paced the Explorers on the afternoon, entering the clubhouse with a scorecard of 80 (+8). The sophomore sits in a tie for 32^nd after the opening round. Zeman finished one stroke off her career low on a par 72 course, shooting a 79 last season.
• Hannah Basler
• Carding the most birdies of Explorers on the opening day, Megan Ruffing closed out her round with a birdie putt on the ninth hole. Her second birdie of the day brought her to an 86 (+14), sitting in a tie for 64^th.
• Grace Weiss tied a team-low nine hole score by shooting just four over on her opening nine holes. Making the turn to the front, the freshman fell off her pace to finish with a 91 (+19) on the afternoon.
• Grace Hickey concluded her opening round with a score of 100 (+28).

 
THE FIELD

• Richmond holds a one shot lead in the team standings, finishing the day shooting a 304 (+16). Sacred Heart trails with a 305 (+17).
• Delaware State's Nattavadee Khunsri holds a six-stroke advantage heading into tomorrow's final round, the only golfer to shoot below par with a  67 (-5) on the opening round.
• La Salle sits in 11^th place after day one, 14 strokes behind Bucknell.
